No cutting-edge new release here. Sure, the real title is "Jonathan Goes Country" but damn, the album is 35 years old now. But, just in case anybody missed it, here I am to tout its charm and overall wonderfulness. (Not to mention, the red boots.)

They finally rereleased it in 2023 and though I like to be an og lp snob, this is a very hard to find as an original release, and expensive if you can find it. So red vinyl reissue it is.

Jonathan is one of my musical heroes. If you ever see me (George) in person, ask me about writing a song about/for him and the subsequent letter I received back from him. (1991!)

This lp has several songs that have burned their way into my head and heart. At one of our last shows a guy was buying a t-shirt and said he was from Reno. I sang the refrain from "Reno" on this record and the fella sang it right back to me. I met a kindred soul.

Anyway, give it a listen. Then listen to it again and again. The rest is history.
